What should I do about my "absent minded proffessor"?

Q: Hello--I have an 18-year old son who was just recently diagnosed as having Aspergers Syndrome. He is a joy to live with, but is ready to move out on his own (from Indiana to LA this summer). One of the traits he struggles most with is being "super focused" on whatever task he is working on, to the point of forgetting everything else. Kind of an absent-minded professor syndrome. Is this common, and does anyone have any suggestions on how to compensate? I won't be around to remind him cross-country.

Also, if you are still selling t-shirts I would be interested in purchasing some.

Thanks!

Lorena

A: Hmm... Checklists are your friend. Checklists that beep are even better. Basically you need a Palm Pilot with a belt clip. One that actually implants into the forearm would be even better, but they haven't invented that yet.

As for t-shirts, we should be offering them online soon. If you want to get an email when we make updates to the site, sign up for our Site News list at http://groups-beta.google.com/group/AskAnAspieSiteNews
